I trust in what's brought you here, for it is you who has brought you here. In you I trust.
Reaching out for mental health support, though potentially daunting, is a natural part of the human experience. We weren't designed to navigate life all on our own, and thankfully, we don’t have to.
So, if you're looking to start counselling sessions, you may be wondering if I am the right counsellor for you.
I offer one-hour sessions in Eastbourne and online counselling via video calls for adults aged 18 and over who are seeking a place to talk.
Who Do I Work With?
The reasons clients I’ve worked with have come to counselling are as diverse and unique as the individuals themselves. Commonly, clients approach me to discuss aspects of their lives they don't feel comfortable sharing with others. Speaking out loud about what has been held in silence can bring a great sense of relief.
Whether your reasons for seeking counselling are vague or crystal clear, that’s perfectly okay. I work with clients facing various challenges, from depression and anxiety to self-confidence and relationship difficulties. Counselling is a journey of self-discovery, and clarity often emerges as we engage in this process together.

Imagine entering a private, non-judgmental space, intentionally designed to provide mental and emotional support and help you feel safe in deepening your connection with yourself.
This space allows you to engage with the full spectrum of your experiences—your hopes, fears, joy, sadness, grief, and everything in between. It’s a dedicated environment for you, one we share together, where every aspect of who you are is not only welcome but encouraged to be expressed.
I want to acknowledge the sensitivity and fear that can accompany the decision to book counselling sessions. It can feel daunting and uncertain, making it hard to know what to expect. It’s perfectly okay to bring your fear with you. I create a gentle, unhurried pace, understanding that we will need to build trust between us, and that process often requires time. If you're considering online counselling, know that you're taking a brave step towards greater self-awareness.

First and foremost, I am here to listen to you and learn about what it's like to walk the path you have so far in life.
I believe that in learning about you, you'll also come to realise new insights about yourself. Getting to know you is my priority so I can work collaboratively with you and help you draw focus on the areas of your life that have brought you into this space.
Together, we can look towards how we establish a sense of safety for you to receive and process the experiences you've had in your life and discover what they mean for you in how you move forward.
You can expect feedback from me, as I communicate what I am hearing and feeling in connection with you, as well as invitations into self-curiosity which can be a gentle way of challenging beliefs and the opportunity to reframe and deepen self-perspective.
The way I work is not fixed, but the way I am intends for you to feel:
Supported: I'm here for you, holding a safe space for you to share and explore your life experiences.
Heard and Seen: I believe when we feel heard and seen we feel valued in a way that can change how we feel about ourselves.
Believed in: Your experiences and feelings are valid, and I'm committed to believing in you and trusting the journey you are on.
I want to emphasise that change is an unstoppable force, and you have the incredible power to create the changes you wish to see in your life. I can't predict what you will discover about yourself through counselling. How about we find out together, within the space we share Between You & I?
Get in touch to book counselling sessions and to schedule your free 30-minute consultation so we can discuss the mental health support you are seeking and establish whether I feel aligned for you at this time.
I hope to hear from you soon,
Rhys

I'd like to share that my journey to train as a counsellor was inspired by my own experiences with counselling. I understand what it feels like to sit in that chair, as I still seek mental health support from time to time. Powerful transformations have occurred for me, and I trust that when you book counselling sessions, they can happen for you too. Online counselling options are available if that suits your needs.
